There have been rumours circulating for the past month or so, saying that while HP might be bowing out of the tablet game, Amazon could be filling the void with their own efforts. Now a little more concrete information is appearing, naming their offering as the Amazon Kindle Tablet. On top of this, the first news on pricing is that it will cost as little as $250.

It’s suggested that it could be finished, or at least the hardware side is finalised. This would leave the etail giant working on the software, which is suggested will be some variant of Android’s last couple of releases.

The Amazon Kindle tablet will likely come with 6GB of internal storage, SD card port, WiFi and 3G access as well. It is thought it will come without a camera, though if you’re using a tablet for that function; what are you doing?

The rumoured release dates are November for the 7″ version and Q1 2012 for the 10″ one.
